At  The Unique Mover, we prioritize the safety and protection of your belongings throughout the moving process. To ensure your valuable items are safeguarded, we offer a range of insurance options tailored to meet your specific needs.

Standard Insurance Protection:

This basic plan is provided free of charge to all customers, offering limited liability insurance. Under this plan, lost or broken items are covered at a rate of $0.60 cents per pound of the object. For instance, if a 100-pound desk valued at $500 is damaged, we would be responsible for $60 towards the replacement value. We recommend this plan for customers who have secondary coverage, such as a homeowner’s policy, to supplement their shipment. It's advisable to consult your insurance broker before opting for this policy for your goods.
Note: A separate insurance fee is required for TVs over 52″ and all pianos to ensure full coverage. Customers will be informed of these charges upon scheduling an appointment.

Replacement Value Protection:

Our Replacement Value Protection plan offers the most comprehensive coverage for your goods during transit. In the event of loss, damage, or destruction, we will repair or replace the items with identical or similar ones, or provide a cash settlement based on their current market value. With this option, you can rest assured that your items will be covered to their full replacement value.

How to  Claim:

Prior to considering any claims, full payment must be made. A deductible of $250 applies to all claims. No carrier assumes liability for loss or damages of any goods under contract unless a complete claim form is submitted within 7 days after the goods' delivery. The unique mover reserves the right to repair items before providing compensation.

Any damage claims must be submitted in written form via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and uniform conditions of carriage apply. Each claim must include pictures and description of the damages and how they may have occurred. We promise to thoroughly investigate and resolve all claims within five to ten business days, provided all applicable moving payments have been received. We also would like to note that it is illegal for customers to deduct money from their final bill to compensate themselves for perceived damages, and that should our movers have not  been compensated for their services, we reserve the right to not answer or refuse to process a claim.
